code of conduct
What Is Our Code of Conduct?
We are here because of you — and you are here to have a great 4th of July celebration. You are the eyes and ears of the festival, and we rely on you to follow our code of conduct and to practice personal responsibility.
Anti-Harassment Policy
Rolling Stone has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. Please alert staff immediately if you feel harassed or threatened in any way.
Remember: No always means NO. Monitor yourself and those around you. If something inappropriate happens to you or someone in your group, notify Rolling Stone or Stateside personnel right away.
Be Observant
We are creating a community, and we should always look out for one another. What will make Stateside great is the unique experience you create when the gates open.
- Be mindful of your belongings and your surroundings.
- If you see someone who needs help, check in with them.
- If you encounter a potentially dangerous situation or observe something that just doesn't seem right, alert a staff member.
- If you or someone you see is sick or injured, seek immediate medical attention.
Respect the Festival Grounds
Please leave no trace behind other than memories. Throw away your trash, respect the space, and be considerate of other festival attendees.
The Buddy System
It's always better with a buddy, and we encourage everyone to pair up and make the most of the festival.
- Designate a meeting spot in advance, in case you lose your buddy or your group.
- If anyone in your party is in trouble, please alert festival staff immediately to assist — no questions asked.
Festival Safety
We take security very seriously, and the festival adheres to strict safety policies and procedures to protect all guests. We work with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure the well-being of all.
Security and event staff personnel will be located around the festival. They are there to help — don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it. If you cannot locate event staff, please stop by our information booth or medical areas.
Children and Minors
Stateside is all ages.
Children under 2 are free to attend with an adult who has purchased a ticket.
Children and minors may attend, but supervision rules apply. Children under 9 years old must be accompanied at all times by a caregiver over the age of 14.
If a child under 12 is left unattended, festival staff will attempt to contact the parent or caregiver. If that is unsuccessful, the child may be considered abandoned and the Kingston Police Department may be contacted to place the child in temporary protective custody.
